Economic Development Information
The Town of Picture Butte is looking to appoint members to the Economic Development Committee.The purpose of the committee is to serve as a liaison between Town government and the community and facilitate economic growth and redevelopment activities for the Town of Picture Butte in conjunction with Council and Town staff. The Town is looking for members with a background in the business, agriculture, or industrial community. (Bylaw No. 906-21 Economic Development Committee Bylaw)
The role of the regional SDAB is to hear appeals regarding decisions made by participating member development authorities and to render decisions based upon the evidence provided. Meetings occur when needed and travel may be required to neighbouring municipalities. Training is required and will be paid by the Town of Picture Butte. A term is three years. Applicants should possess integrity, be fair and impartial, and have regard for property owners, the public and the municipality. Members would benefit from having knowledge of the subdivision and development process or by being part of development related professions.
The Picture Butte Library Board is currently looking for two applicants at this time. Keep checking in as the status can change. Applicants should believe in the importance and value of libraries and be willing to attend five meetings per year. Board membership is an opportunity to contribute to your community while using your skills and experience especially in the areas of fundraising, public service, communication, policy development, finance and planning. Library board members are appointed by Council and any application or expression of interest will be assessed by Council.
