Municipal Enforcement Officer - Educational Post
Starting September 1, 2025, our Municipal Enforcement Officer Wesley Noble will be going through the town again to inspect properties (yards, alleyways and sideewalks) to ensure compliance.
He will be looking for the following:
- Overgrown grass or weeds.
- Overhanging tree branches (sidewalks, and alleys)
- Other potential factors mentioned in Section 5 of Bylaw 797-06
Purple colored door hangers will be issued allowing for 10 days to complete any requirements noted.
Reasons to keep properties clean and cut:
- Removes potential pest habitats from occurring.
- Lessens likelihood of fire.
- Can increases property values.
- Community effort to keep potentially noxious, and prohibited noxious, weeds out to protect the environment.
- Removes potential hazards for emergency crews, and others.
Reasons to keep alleyways and sidewalks clear:
- Removes potential pest habitats from occurring.
- Keeps area clear for utility crews, town crews, and emergency crews.
- Allows the public to safely utilize the sidewalks ie. Seniors, children on bikes, citizens with assisted walking equipment etc.
- Can increases property values.
- Lessens likelihood of fires (tall dry grass and weeds)
