Grass / Leaves / Branches Pick Up
Begins Tuesday May 1st, 2018
Public Works crews will pick up any grass, leaves, and yard waste that are deposited in approved non-corrosive durable metal or plastic containers or recyclable paper bags, which must not weigh more than 50 pounds (20 kilograms). Please place containers for grass pick up in your back-alley or where your garbage is collected if you do not have a back-alley. Branches must be bundled and cut into lengths of not more than four feet.
Plastic garbage bags containing any yard refuse will NOT be picked up as they cannot be composted.
If you have any questions or concerns please call the Town Shop at 403-732-4881.
The Town through the Oldman River Regional Services Commission has released a public access to the Town’s GIS system. Click on the link below to see an interactive map of the Town. Within this feature you can discover information including your lot size, property lines, legal address and land use district. When “Orthophotos” is selected you can zoom in on your property and view it similar to Google Earth. However, the orthophotos are actually taken from a plane so the imaging and ability to zoom in further are much greater than images taken from a satellite. If you are a little curious you can do the same for any property in Town. On the Town’s website there is a basic overview of how to use the GIS system and the functions that can be explored within it. More information on how to use this new public GIS can be found here. Please have a look and explore the town through the link.
Picture Butte Bylaw Enforcement
The Town of Picture Butte, the Town of Coaldale, Town of Coalhurst and the Village of Barons are all happy to announce the commencement of our new bylaw enforcement program, called Coaldale and District Municipal Enforcement.
Four Community Peace Officers (CPOs) will be working various shifts to allow for seven day a week coverage, primarily from the hours of 7 AM until 9:30 PM, however the times may vary due to changes in the Officers' shifts. The four CPOs will be responsible for enforcing all municipal bylaws as well as provincial traffic offences under the Traffic Safety Act.
If you have a question for an officer or have a complaint, you can call 1-844-645-2635. Complaints can also be filed using the new online form. When accessing the link, you may need to adjust your browser to allow pop ups.
When using the online form to submit a complaint, under the heading of "Select a Group", use the drop down arrow and select "Coaldale and District Municipal Enforcement". Once you have made the selection, click on "Write New Online Report" and fill in the information. When finished, it will be sent to an officer on duty and will be dealt with in a timely fashion. If the matter is an emergency, please call 911.
